The Fontainebleau just launched Après Beach, which is exactly what it sounds like: they took the LIV Beach dayclub and dressed it up like a ski resort party. Think shotskis, fake snow falling from above, cozy blankets in the cabanas, and DJs spinning house music while people throw Champagne around. It runs through March, Friday through Sunday afternoons.
This is Vegas doing what Vegas does, taking a concept and cranking it to eleven. British DJ Cloonee kicked off the series, and they'll rotate in different electronic acts throughout the season. If you've ever been to an actual ski lodge party, this is that vibe minus the altitude and frostbite. Entry gets you into the "winter wonderland" setup with all the ski lodge aesthetics, and you can book cabanas if you want the full bottle-service-in-cashmere experience.
It's aimed squarely at the dayclub crowd, not families. This is a party scene with a gimmick, so if you're trying to explain to your kids why there's snow at a pool in the desert, this isn't that kind of thing. But if you've got a babysitter lined up and want something different than the usual weekend routine, it's a new option on the Strip that'll probably pull a crowd through winter.
Après Beach runs Fridays through Sundays at LIV Beach. Tickets and table reservations are available through the Fontainebleau website. Just know you're paying Strip dayclub prices for the privilege of pretending it's cold outside.
